Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL) has invested ₹749.99 crore in Aditya Birla Housing Finance Ltd (ABHFL), its wholly owned subsidiary. The company disclosed the investment in a regulatory filing dated March 10, 2026.
The investment was made through a rights subscription to equity shares issued by the housing finance company. The total amount invested stood at ₹749,99,99,858, paid in cash.
The shares were allotted by Aditya Birla Housing Finance on March 10, 2026. The subscription was completed on a rights basis, where the existing shareholder subscribed to additional equity issued by the company.
Aditya Birla Capital continues to hold 100% of the equity in the housing finance arm following the transaction. The investment therefore did not alter the shareholding pattern of the subsidiary.
The company stated that the funds will be used to support the operations of the housing finance business. The investment is also intended to improve the subsidiary’s leverage position.
Housing finance companies typically require periodic capital support to maintain lending capacity and balance sheet requirements as loan books expand.
Since Aditya Birla Housing Finance is a wholly owned subsidiary, the investment is treated as a related-party transaction. The company noted that the transaction was carried out on an arm’s-length basis.
The disclosure also stated that no government or regulatory approvals were required for completing the investment.
Aditya Birla Housing Finance operates in the housing finance sector and provides home loans and other property-linked financing products. It forms part of the broader lending operations within the Aditya Birla Capital group.
