Kutch Copper, the Adani Group’s copper smelting unit, could report EBITDA of about ₹2,800-₹3,100 crore in FY27. The estimate was reportedly shared by Adani Enterprises Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Robbie Singh during a call with analysts, as per The Economics Times report.
The business operates under Adani Enterprises, which houses the group’s incubation projects.
The smelter was commissioned in early 2024 and is still in the ramp-up stage. Management said the plant is expected to reach full utilisation over the next 2-3 months.
The effect of higher operating levels is likely to appear in financial numbers from the first quarter of the following financial year.
The company indicated that the EBITDA range will depend on utilisation once the plant stabilises.
Kutch Copper has a smelting capacity of 500,000 tonnes a year. It is one of the few large copper smelters currently operating in India, alongside Hindalco’s copper business. Vedanta’s Tuticorin smelter remains closed.
The first phase of the project involved capital expenditure of around $1.2 billion. The group has earlier indicated plans to double capacity at the site, with an additional investment estimated at $700-800 million.
The ramp-up has been affected by limited availability of copper concentrate. The company has secured smaller volumes than required, which has held back operating levels. This has also affected treatment and refining charge margins, which are a key source of income for smelters.
Latin America remains the main source of concentrate for the plant. The company has also signed an agreement with Australia-based Caravel Minerals to explore investment and offtake options linked to the Caravel Copper Project.

As of February 13, 2026, 1:24 pm, Adani Enterprises share price was trading at ₹2,150.10, a 2.79% decrease from the previous closing price.
Kutch Copper is still in the early phase of operations. Utilisation levels and access to concentrate are likely to shape its earnings in FY27.
