
In December, Quant Mid Cap Fund made a complete exit from Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and realigned its portfolio by increasing exposure to Anthem Biosciences and four other listed companies. The fund also added a new entrant while maintaining steady positions in 15 existing stocks.
Quant Mid Cap Fund, with an AUM of ₹8,057 crore as of December, exited its entire holding of 16.55 lakh IRCTC shares worth ₹113 crore. The fund also sold 2.66 crore shares of GMR Airports, reducing its total holding in the stock from 4.53 crore to 1.87 crore shares.
Meanwhile, the fund significantly increased its stake in 5 other mid-cap companies.
The key additions in December included 18.77 lakh shares of Anthem Biosciences, bringing the total to 50.77 lakh shares. Similarly, 16.58 lakh shares of PB Fintech, 12.09 lakh shares of SBI Cards and Payment Services, 4.30 lakh shares of Premier Energies, and 3.88 lakh shares of Godrej Properties were added to the portfolio.
Biocon entered the portfolio during the month, with the addition of 7.80 lakh shares. The total number of portfolio holdings remained unchanged at 22 stocks. 15 stocks witnessed no change in exposure, including major names like LIC Housing Finance, Reliance Industries, Tata Power Company, ITC, JSW Infrastructure, Linde India, and Aurobindo Pharma.
The fund management team adopted a more cautious strategy during the same period, increasing cash levels and selectively adding large-cap names, while maintaining core exposure to mid-cap stocks with promising growth potential across different sectors.
