Tata AIA Life Insurance has introduced a new international-focused investment option under its unit-linked portfolio with the launch of the Tata AIA Global Equity Fund. The offering is structured to provide policyholders exposure to overseas markets while retaining life insurance protection under ULIP products.

Global Allocation Strategy and Structure

The New Fund Offer is open from February 26 to March 5, 2026. Units will be issued at a net asset value of $10 as of midnight on March 5, in line with policy provisions.

The fund is designed to pursue long-term capital growth and income generation by investing across global equity and equity-related instruments, including mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.

The asset mix allows 70% to 100% allocation towards international equities, while up to 30% may be deployed in debt, cash or money market instruments. The strategy follows a diversified approach across sectors and geographies.

Harshad Patil, Chief Investment Officer at Tata AIA Life Insurance, stated that global diversification is becoming increasingly relevant for long-term portfolio construction as investors look beyond domestic markets for growth opportunities.

Access, Risk Profile and Policy Conditions

The fund will be available through Tata AIA’s unit-linked insurance solutions, including Tata AIA Shubh Global Invest, and will be distributed via partner networks as well as online platforms.

Given its predominant equity exposure, the fund carries a high-risk profile and returns will depend on market performance. The policy does not permit liquidity during the first three years. Early exit may attract charges and the surrender value could be lower than total premiums paid. Foreign exchange movements may also influence returns, with associated costs borne by the policyholder.

Conclusion

With the launch of the Global Equity Fund, Tata AIA is expanding its ULIP investment basket to include structured international exposure. The fund combines life cover with global market participation, targeting investors seeking diversification across overseas equity markets.
