NLC India Limited (NLCIL), a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, announced the successful commissioning of the second phase of its 300 MW Solar Power Project at Barsingsar in Bikaner district, Rajasthan.

The newly commissioned capacity of 106 MW has been declared commercially operational following the receipt of a commissioning certificate from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited on November 2, 2025.

This marks another milestone in NLCIL’s commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy ambitions and expanding its non-fossil fuel-based generation portfolio.

Total Operational Capacity Reaches 158.83 MW

The first part of the project, with a capacity of 52.83 MW, was declared commercially operational on August 26, 2025. With the addition of the second phase, NLCIL has now achieved a total operational capacity of 158.83 MW out of the planned 300 MW solar project.

The Barsingsar project is designed to contribute significantly to the state’s renewable energy mix and support the Government of India’s target of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030. Once fully operational, the 300 MW project will supply clean energy to the grid, reducing carbon emissions and enhancing sustainable power availability in Rajasthan.
