The Chhattisgarh government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for state government employees by 3 percentage points. With the latest revision, DA now stands at 58% of basic pay. The announcement was made on Sunday by Vishnu Deo Sai, according to news reports.
The DA hike will apply to nearly 3.9 lakh state government employees across departments. The last revision took place in August last year, when DA was raised by 2% to 55% of basic pay. The current increase adds to that level and will be reflected in employees’ monthly salaries once implemented.
The decision was announced at an event organised by the Chhattisgarh State Employees Union in Raipur. Addressing the gathering, the chief minister said several steps had been taken by the state government in recent years in relation to employee service matters and administrative functioning.
The state government referred to revisions in transfer policies, promotion procedures, and workplace arrangements. These changes were intended to bring clarity and consistency to internal processes.
The creation of the Department of Good Governance and Convergence was also mentioned as part of an administrative restructuring.
The Chief Minister said emphasis has been placed on the timely payment of pensions, gratuities, and other retirement-related dues. Measures have been taken to reduce delays faced by employees at the time of superannuation.
The government has also established the Chhattisgarh Pension Fund and passed the Pension Fund Bill in the State Legislative Assembly to provide a statutory framework for pension management.

The revision of DA to 58% of basic pay will result in a limited increase in take-home pay for state government employees. The announcement comes alongside ongoing administrative and pension-related measures being implemented by the Chhattisgarh government.
