On Wednesday, the benchmark indices were trading in the green with the Sensex up around 325 points or 0.46% at 70,700 while the Nifty-50 up around 118 points or 0.55% at 21,356. About 2,253 shares have advanced, 1,214 declined, and 127 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were IndusInd Bank, State Bank of India, and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Asian Paints Ltd, IndusInd Bank, and HDFC Bank.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.72% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.70%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were SJVN Ltd and REC Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.
The BSE Metals Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Realty Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Metals Index soared 1.70% led by Steel Authority of India and Coal India Ltd while the BSE Realty Index was down 0.60% dragged down by Macrotech Developers Ltd and Sobha Ltd.
