The top Sensex gainers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Infosys Ltd and NTPC Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Ultratech Cements Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 1.10% and the BSE Small-cap index up 1.05%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were SJVN Ltd and NHPC Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Texmaco Infrastructure & Holdings Ltd and Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.
All the sectoral indices were trading in green with The BSE Oil & Gas Index and BSE Power Index being the top gainers. The BSE Oil & Gas Index gained by 2.55%, up by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd and Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and the BSE Power Index is up by 2.52% led by NHPC Ltd and Suzlon Energy Ltd.
