On Thursday, the benchmark indices were trading in the green with the Sensex up around 260 points or 0.38% at 72,021 while the Nifty-50 up around 80 points or 0.35% at 21,802. About 1,913 shares have advanced, 1,660 declined and 167 are unchanged on the BSE.

The top Sensex gainers were Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and NTPC Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Larsen & Toubro Ltd, Ultratech Cements Ltd and Bajaj Finance Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index down 0.25% and the BSE Small-cap index down 0.05%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Torrent Power Ltd and NHPC Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were B.L. Kashyap Ltd and Udaipur Cement Works Ltd.
The BSE Power Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Realty Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Power Index soared 1.6% led by Suzlon Energy Ltd and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd while the BSE Realty Index was down 1% dragged down by Macrotech Developers Ltd and Sobha Ltd.
