Tech Mahindra reported a decline of 1,993 employees in the quarter ended 31 March 2026, as per news reports. The total workforce stood at 147,623 at the end of the period. For the full year FY26, the headcount was lower by 1,108 compared with the previous year.
A large share of employees remains offshore, accounting for about 77.8% of the workforce, while the rest are based onsite. The change in headcount shows a continued adjustment in staffing levels.
The company’s last 12-month attrition rate declined slightly to 12.1% in Q4, compared with 12.3% in the previous quarter. The movement indicates a limited easing in employee exits.
During the period, the company continued with its restructuring programme. Hiring remained selective, with recruitment focused on specific requirements rather than broad-based additions.
Management has also been increasing the use of artificial intelligence across services and internal processes. This is being used to support delivery and improve productivity.
