Adani Total Gas Ltd (ATGL), a joint venture between Adani Group and TotalEnergies, has announced a reduction in the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Piped Natural Gas (PNG) for domestic use, as per PTI report.
This price cut is a result of the recent tariff reform by the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB), which aims to simplify gas transportation charges and reduce input costs for city gas distributors.
The PNGRB's landmark tariff reform has led to a significant reduction in CNG and PNG prices across various regions.
In Gujarat and the adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra, CNG prices have decreased by ₹0.50 to ₹1.90 per kg, while domestic PNG prices have been reduced by up to ₹1.10 per standard cubic metre (scm).
In Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana-NCR, northern Madhya Pradesh, and bordering Uttar Pradesh, CNG prices have dropped by ₹1.40 to ₹2.55 per kg, with domestic PNG prices falling by ₹1.10 to ₹4.00 per scm.
In Central and Eastern India, CNG prices have been slashed by ₹1.81 to ₹4.05 per kg, and domestic PNG prices have decreased by up to ₹4.00 per scm.
These reductions are a direct result of the PNGRB's decision to collapse three gas transportation zones into two, applying a uniform Zone-1 tariff of ₹54 per million British thermal unit (excluding tax) for domestic PNG and CNG-Transport segments nationwide.

Suresh P Manglani, ED and CEO of ATGL, welcomed the reform, stating that it would make natural gas more affordable and accelerate the adoption of cleaner fuels across homes and transport.
ATGL operates in 53 geographical areas, serving over 12,00,000 households and running nearly 1,100 CNG stations nationwide. The simplified tariff structure is expected to remove regional inefficiencies and translate into lower consumer prices, encouraging wider adoption of natural gas.
As of January 02, 2026, at 3:26 PM, Adani Total Gas share price on NSE was trading at ₹587.30 down by 1.14% from the previous closing price.
The PNGRB's tariff reform has led to a reduction in CNG and PNG prices, benefiting consumers across multiple regions. This move is expected to make natural gas more accessible and affordable, promoting its use as a cleaner fuel alternative in households and the transportation sector.
