Eternal declined 3.45% to ₹318.00 with trade value of ₹1,10,104.36 lakh, making it the biggest loser. NTPC fell 2.52% to ₹336.45, while Cipla dropped 2.51% to ₹1,501.50. Max Healthcare and HDFC Life Insurance posted losses of 2.50% and 2.09%, respectively.
The NIFTY 50 index closed lower as profit booking weighed on benchmarks. Gains in defence and IT counters were offset by declines in pharma, insurance, and power stocks.
