Sensex Weekly Expiry: Stocks Under F&O Ban

Ahead of the Sensex weekly expiry on Thursday, February 26, 2025, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) has placed Sammaan Capital under the F&O trading ban.

The ban was imposed as the security crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit (MWPL). Trading in F&O contracts for this stock is restricted; however, it remains available for trading in the cash segment.

Sammaan Capital

Sammaan Capital shares ended the session 2.91% higher at ₹157.89 on February 25, 2026, on NSE. The stock has traded between a high of ₹ 162 and a low of ₹153.55, respectively.

What is Sensex Weekly Expiry?

Sensex options contracts expire every Thursday. However, if Thursday happens to be a trading holiday, the expiry is moved forward to the previous trading day.

Settlement is conducted at the normal market closing time, unless the exchange announces a different schedule. Similarly, if the last Thursday of the expiry cycle falls on a holiday, all contracts in that series expire on the immediately preceding trading session.

Conclusion

The inclusion of Sammaan Capital in the F&O ban list signals elevated derivatives activity ahead of the weekly expiry. While overall market sentiment remains subdued due to ongoing geopolitical tensions, investors and traders should closely monitor position limits and stock-specific price movements in the coming sessions.
