Sensex Steady as Tech Mahindra, Infosys and HCL Technologies Lead Early Gains on Nov 24

Sensex trades steady with IT stocks leading gains, while autos, power and select manufacturing names see early pressure on November 24.

The BSE Sensex opened at 85,320.04 on November 24 and continued to trade with mild gains, rising 108.78 points to 85,340.70 by 10:07 AM. 

The index moved within a narrow range, touching a high of 85,450.36 and a low of 85,209.91 in early trade.

IT Stocks Provide Upward Momentum

Technology stocks were among the contributors in early deals. Tech Mahindra traded at 1,511.20, advancing 3.45%, making it the top gainer within the segment. 

Infosys also gained 1.81% at 1,572.60, while HCL Technologies rose 1.53% to 1,632.85.

Mixed Performance in Consumer and Banking

Titan inched up 0.66% to 3,930.50, reflecting steady demand in the consumer discretionary space. State Bank of India traded 0.43% higher at 976.75, indicating moderate traction in banking shares.

Pressure on Auto and Power Stocks

Some heavyweights weighed on the index. UltraTech Cement slipped 0.77% to 11,638.70, while Power Grid declined 0.79% to 275.45 amid mild profit-booking. Bharat Electronics fell 1.13% to 411.50. Auto stocks also saw pressure, with Mahindra & Mahindra down 1.17% at 3,705.00 and TMPV lower by 1.24% at 357.75. Eternal traded at 298.45, losing 1.19%.

Conclusion

The Sensex maintained a stable start supported by gains in major IT stocks, despite weakness in autos, power and select manufacturing counters. Market direction through the day will likely depend on global cues and sector-specific developments.
