With extensive experience in the housing finance and banking sector, Girish Kousgi is expected to bring valuable expertise to IIFL Home Finance’s operations. His appointment as both MD and CFO signifies a unified leadership approach to driving operational efficiency, profitability, and sustainable growth across the company’s lending portfolio.
Kousgi stepped down as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PNB Housing Finance Ltd in July. Over a career spanning almost three decades, he has held several senior leadership roles, including Managing Director and CEO at Can Fin Homes Ltd, Head of Retail, Credit and Risk at Tata Capital Financial Services Ltd, Executive Vice-President at IDFC Bank Ltd, and Joint General Manager at ICICI Bank Ltd.

IIFL Finance’s Q1 FY26 saw AUM at ₹83,889 crore (+21% YoY) and total income ~₹2,959 crore (+12.7% YoY), while PAT fell 19% YoY to ₹274 crore; GNPA/NNPA at ~2.3%/1.1%, ROA 1.6%, ROE 7.6%.
Gold loans rebounded strongly (AUM ₹27,274 crore; +30% QoQ, +85% YoY), offset by microfinance softness; management guides for ~20% AUM growth in FY26.
