The Odisha Government has disbursed over ₹61 crore to more than 79,000 women who were earlier excluded from the ‘Subhadra’ scheme, as per PTI reports.
The amount was transferred directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system during a virtual programme organised by the Women and Child Development Department. The disbursal was carried out by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida.
As per the report, a section of eligible beneficiaries did not receive earlier instalments due to technical and documentation-related issues.
These included inactive NPCI linkage with bank accounts, biometric errors during e-KYC verification, and pending grievances at different stages of processing. These factors resulted in delays in fund transfers despite approvals at earlier stages.
Data shared by the department shows that 21,901 beneficiaries have now received the first instalment. A total of 22,347 women were provided the second instalment after completion of required checks.
Additionally, 79,601 beneficiaries have been covered under the third instalment following clearance of pending cases. The overlap in figures reflects multiple instalments being released after delays were resolved.
The status of pending and excluded applications was reviewed with district authorities. Ganjam, Jajpur, and Kalahandi were among the districts where verification backlogs were discussed.
Officials have been asked to complete scrutiny of remaining cases and process eligible applications without further delay.
The department said the verification process is ongoing and includes grievance redressal mechanisms to address cases that were earlier put on hold. Beneficiaries facing issues related to documentation or account linkage are being reviewed.

The latest transfer clears a portion of pending payments under the scheme, mainly linked to earlier technical and verification gaps, with further cases still under review.
