The Bihar government has stepped up efforts to advance the AgriStack farmer registry by accelerating the verification of Jamabandi land records across the state.
Through a phased campaign and closer administrative supervision, the initiative aims to ensure timely, transparent and accurate validation of farmer data linked to land ownership.
Bihar’s Revenue and Land Reforms Department has prioritised the verification of Jamabandi records and pending bucket claims as part of the AgriStack programme.
The drive is intended to strengthen the farmer registry by addressing discrepancies in land records and ensuring that verified data is updated promptly.
The verification exercise is being conducted in two phases. The first phase began on January 6 and concluded shortly thereafter, while the second phase is scheduled to run from January 18 to January 21.
The timelines were finalised during an AgriStack Steering Committee meeting held on December 30, 2025.
To maintain momentum, the department has assigned district-level supervision to senior officers. Each official has been entrusted with monitoring progress in designated districts, including on-site reviews and coordination with local administrations to ensure adherence to timelines.
As per departmental instructions, nominated officers are required to be present at their assigned district headquarters between January 7 and January 10.
Verification activities are being carried out through organised camps, with the objective of achieving complete coverage of Jamabandi claims submitted by farmers.
The campaign seeks to improve the reliability of land-related data within the AgriStack framework.
By focusing on verification and accountability, the state aims to support accurate farmer identification, which is expected to facilitate the delivery of agriculture-related schemes and services.
