On Friday, the benchmark indices were trading higher with Sensex up around 263 points or 0.40% at 65,503 and the Nifty-50 up around 86 points or 0.44% at 19,468. About 2,210 shares have advanced, 1,080 declined, and 161 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were Wipro Ltd, HCL Technologies Ltd and Tech Mahindra Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Tata Motors Ltd, Bajaj FinServ Ltd and Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd.
The BSE Information Technology Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Auto Index was the top losing sector. The BSE IT Index soared 1.30%, led by Digispice Technologies Ltd and HCL Infosystems Ltd while the BSE Auto Index was down 0.25% dragged down by MRF Ltd and Ashok Leyland Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.23% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.74%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd and LIC Housing Finance Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Digispice Technologies Ltd and HCL Infosystems Ltd.
