The top Sensex gainers were Tech Mahindra Ltd, Jio Financial Services Ltd and Power Grid Corporation of India whereas the top Sensex losers were Bharti Airtel Ltd, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Axis Bank.
The BSE Realty Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE FMCG Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Realty Index soared 1.66%, led by Macrotech Developers Ltd and DLF Ltd while the BSE FMCG Index was down 0.07% dragged down by Dodla Dairy Ltd and Apex Frozen Foods Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.35% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.60%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Macro Tech Developers Ltd and SJVN Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Union Bank of India and Piramal Enterprises Ltd.
