The top Sensex gainers were State Bank of India, Axis Bank and Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd and ICICI Bank and Infosys Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.49% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.72%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Indian Overseas Bank and Canara Bank while the top small-cap gainers were EIH Ltd and HLV Ltd.
The BSE Realty Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and the BSE Information Technology Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Realty Index soared 2.5% led by Macrotech Developers Ltd and DLF Ltd while the BSE Information Technology Index was down 0.70% dragged down by Sonata Software Ltd and KPIT Technologies Ltd.
