India’s petcare sector continues to attract investor interest, with Bengaluru-based Supertails securing fresh capital to scale its integrated petcare platform and expand beyond its core market.
Supertails has raised $30 million in a funding round led by Venturi Partners, with participation from Nippon India Alternative Investments and Titan Capital Winners Fund. Existing backers including Fireside Ventures, RPSG Capital Ventures, Sauce VC and Saama Capital also participated.
With this round, the startup’s total funding stands at about $56 million, following a $15 million equity round led by RPSG Capital Ventures in February 2024.
Founded in 2021 by Varun Sadana, Aman Tekriwal and Vineet Khanna, former senior executives at Licious, Supertails operates physical veterinary clinics, provides at-home veterinary services and delivers petcare products through its website and app.
The company launched a 30-minute quick commerce service in Bengaluru in November, offering over 30,000 SKUs, and plans to expand the service to other metros in the coming months.
As per news reports, cofounder Vineet Khanna said the focus will be on “spending more on infrastructure,” adding that the company plans to build additional clinics beyond Bengaluru and invest further in technology to make the app more personalised. Supertails currently operates 4 clinics in the city and plans to scale this to close to 10 by the end of March.
