According to the Economic Times news report, Inox Clean Energy is planning to acquire Boviet Solar in a deal that could value the company at around $750 million (~₹7,000 crore). Boviet Solar, headquartered in San Jose, California, is among the top 10 solar equipment manufacturers in the United States.
The enterprise value of the deal includes debt and cash components, offering a comprehensive view of the company’s total valuation.
The acquisition is aimed at helping Inox Clean Energy establish a strong foothold in the US renewable energy sector. By acquiring Boviet Solar, the Noida-based company seeks to tap into the growing demand for solar energy across residential, commercial, and industrial segments in the US. This move aligns with its broader strategy to expand its international presence and diversify its revenue streams.
Boviet Solar is a subsidiary of Ningbo Boway Alloy Material, which had recently initiated a strategic review of its US business. The parent company cited ongoing trade and policy challenges, along with changes in US subsidy eligibility, as key reasons influencing its capital allocation decisions.
Over the past several months, multiple Chinese solar equipment manufacturers have reassessed their US operations amid increasing regulatory scrutiny and shifting policy landscapes.
Inox Clean Energy operates across the renewable energy value chain, including power generation and solar equipment manufacturing through its subsidiaries Inox Neo Energies and InoxSolar Ltd. The acquisition of Boviet Solar could enhance its manufacturing capabilities and provide direct access to the US market, enabling better integration and scalability.
