AI Startup ElevenLabs Secures $500 Million In Series D Funding Round Led by Sequoia Capital 

ElevenLabs, a voice artificial intelligence company founded in 2022, has secured fresh funding to accelerate its growth and broaden its audio technology capabilities beyond speech solutions. 

Funding Round and Investor Participation 

The company has raised $500 million in a Series D funding round led by Sequoia Capital, taking its valuation to $11 billion and lifting total funding to $781 million since its inception.  

The round saw strong follow-on support from existing backers, with Andreessen Horowitz increasing its investment significantly and ICONIQ also deepening its stake.  

New investors, including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Evantic Capital and BOND, joined the round, while long-standing supporters such as BroadLight, NFDG and Valor Capital continued their backing. Additional investor details are expected to be disclosed later in February. 

Product Expansion and India Focus 

Founded in 2022, ElevenLabs initially focused on building realistic AI-powered text-to-speech tools. It has since expanded into a broader audio technology platform covering transcription, sound effects, dubbing, music, and conversational AI. 

“We started by building a voice that could sound human — and we did. Today, we are building foundational models across the full audio stack — text to speech, transcription, music, dubbing and conversational models — with a world-leading research team,” said Piotr Dabkowski, co-founder of ElevenLabs, as per news reports. 

The company is strengthening its footprint in India, which it has identified as its largest market globally. It has appointed Karthik Rajaram as general manager and country head for India and works with local firms such as Meesho and Pocket FM.
