On Monday, July 14, 2025, Indian equity benchmark indices ended in the red after a choppy trading session influenced by weak global signals. Market sentiment took a hit as US President Donald Trump announced a 30% tariff on imports from the European Union and Mexico, which will come into effect on August 1. Additionally, caution ahead of the Q1FY26 earnings season further weighed on investor confidence.

The BSE Sensex declined by 247.01 points, or 0.3%, closing at 82,253.46. The Nifty50 also slipped, ending 67.55 points, or 0.27%, lower at 25,082.3.

Conclusion

Indian markets ended lower after a volatile session driven by global trade tensions and earnings caution. While select stocks like Eternal and Titan managed gains, heavyweights in IT and financials dragged the indices down. Investors are likely to remain watchful of global developments and upcoming Q1 earnings reports for further cues.
