NBCC (India) Ltd has signed 2 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to redevelop staff housing colonies in New Delhi. The projects together are valued at about ₹775 crore, excluding GST.
The work relates to housing complexes located in Old Rajinder Nagar and Safdarjung Development Area.
The Old Rajinder Nagar redevelopment has an estimated cost of ₹437.79 crore. The Safdarjung Development Area project has been valued at ₹337.48 crore. Both locations currently function as staff housing.
Together, they include 269 dwelling units, 117 at Old Rajinder Nagar and 152 at Safdarjung Development Area.
The redevelopment is expected to involve around 1.66 lakh square metres of built-up space. Old Rajinder Nagar may account for close to 99,635 square metres, while Safdarjung Development Area could see about 65,925 square metres.
The final built-up area will be decided after detailed site surveys and preparation of the Detailed Project Report.
The projects are proposed to be executed through a self-funding structure. A portion of the newly developed space is expected to be sold through a defined process to meet project costs. The remaining area will be retained for staff accommodation as determined by DDA.
NBCC’s role includes preparing master plans, detailed project reports, and obtaining necessary statutory approvals. It will also handle architectural design, engineering work, tendering, construction, quality checks, and completion of the projects.
The contracts are part of NBCC’s regular project management consultancy work. They are not classified as related-party transactions. The redevelopment is expected to be carried out in phases over a period of about 3 years.
