ACME Solar Holdings Ltd has commissioned an additional 155 MW / 470.25 MWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity through its subsidiaries. With this development, the company’s total commissioned BESS capacity has reached 297.67 MW / 951.74 MWh.
The projects form part of ACME Solar’s broader energy storage plan, under which the company aims to develop a total BESS capacity of 835 MW / 3,114.64 MWh across multiple special purpose vehicles.
The newly commissioned battery energy storage systems are located in the state of Rajasthan and are connected to the existing operational Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). These systems will operate on a merchant basis, enabling the company to generate additional revenue streams.
By leveraging the difference in electricity prices between peak and non-peak hours, the company can optimise its energy storage operations and improve profitability.
Battery energy storage systems play an important role in enhancing the reliability and efficiency of power grids. These projects are designed to charge the batteries during periods of low electricity demand and discharge energy during peak demand hours.
This operational model helps balance energy supply and demand, ensuring that excess power generated during off-peak periods can be effectively utilised during high consumption periods.
On March 24, 2026, ACME Solar share price opened at ₹246.00, touching the day’s high at ₹246.00, as of 11:34 AM on the NSE.
