Indian stock markets are expected to start on a cautious note today, despite a rally in US and Asian markets. GIFT Nifty was down 12 points at 24,850, hinting at a flat to negative opening. In the US, strong consumer confidence data led to a major rally—S&P 500 rose 2.05% and Dow Jones gained 1.78%.

In the last trading session on May 27, 2025, Indian stock markets ended in the red. The Sensex dropped by 624.82 points or 0.76%, closing at 81,551.6, while the Nifty50 declined by 174.95 points or 0.7% to settle at 24,826.2. Despite the fall in benchmark indices, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were net buyers, investing ₹348.45 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) showed strong confidence with substantial purchases amounting to ₹10,104.6 crore.

Key Stocks to Watch Today

LIC

Life Insurance Corporation reported a strong Q4 performance with a 38% YoY increase in consolidated net profit to ₹19,039 crore.

Waaree Energies

Waaree Energies deal to acquire a 55% stake in Ewaa Renewable Techno Solutions for ₹5.5 crore has been cancelled.

NMDC

NMDC reported an 8% rise in revenue and a 4.8% jump in net profit for Q4. However, EBITDA margins came under pressure due to higher costs.

ITC

British American Tobacco (BAT) plans to sell a 2.3% stake in ITC worth ₹11,613 crore at ₹400/share, an 8% discount to the market price.

P&G Hygiene

P&G Hygiene posted a net profit of ₹156.1 crore and revenue of ₹991.6 crore for Q4. It has proposed a ₹65/share dividend.

Bharat Dynamics

Bharat Dynamics reported a 5% fall in Q4 net profit to ₹273 crore from ₹289 crore in the same quarter last year.

Tata Steel

Tata steel filed a new writ petition in the Delhi High Court seeking ₹757.14 crore compensation and interest over a cancelled coal block.

Olectra Greentech

Olectra Greentech clarified that it hasn’t received any official notice about the cancellation of its ₹10,000 crore Maharashtra electric bus contract, contrary to media reports.
