Flipkart Minutes, the quick commerce arm of e-commerce giant Flipkart, completed its first year in August 2025, claiming 50 million unique visitors with growth doubling every 2 months, as per a news report. Despite being a late entrant to the quick commerce field, the platform is leveraging Flipkart's established presence in Tier-II and Tier-III cities to drive rapid expansion and differentiation in the competitive market.
As per news reports, Vice-President Kabeer Biswas described the past year as "phenomenal," with Flipkart Minutes becoming the fastest-growing quick commerce platform. The service, launched in August 2024, currently operates across 17-19 cities with orders doubling every 45 days. The company plans to reach 800 dark stores by the end of 2025, capitalising on the explosive growth observed in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets.
Flipkart's existing infrastructure provides a significant competitive advantage, with 75% of the required infrastructure already established for smaller cities due to Flipkart's historical presence. In cities like Guwahati, where Flipkart holds a dominant market position, the Minutes rollout becomes substantially easier. Even Tier-3 city customers now expect 10-15 minute delivery, demonstrating evolving consumer expectations across geographies.

Flipkart Minutes distinguishes itself through a higher Average Order Value (AOV) compared to quick commerce competitors, hyperlocal customisation, particularly for food items, and access to over 10,000 SKUs with neighbourhood-specific assortment. The platform leverages Flipkart's existing customer base that demonstrates higher purchase intent, providing natural conversion advantages over standalone quick commerce services.
The strategic focus on Tier-II and Tier-III cities addresses significant market opportunities where established quick commerce players have limited presence. Flipkart's deep understanding of local preferences, existing logistics network, and customer relationships in these markets positions Minutes for accelerated growth whilst avoiding intense competition in metro markets dominated by incumbents.
Flipkart Minutes' first-year performance with 50 million unique visitors doubling every two months demonstrates a successful quick commerce strategy leveraging existing Tier-II, III city infrastructure. With 75% infrastructure advantage, orders doubling every 45 days, and plans for 800 dark stores by 2025 end, the platform's hyperlocal customisation and higher AOV approach position it strategically in the competitive quick commerce landscape through differentiated geographic and customer focus.
