State Bank of India (SBI) has revised its ATM and Automated Deposit-cum-Withdrawal Machine (ADWM) charges at other banks’ ATMs. The new fee structure came into effect on 1 December 2025 and marks the first revision since February 2025.
The changes mainly affect savings and salary account holders when they exceed their free monthly transactions at non-SBI ATMs. Transactions at SBI ATMs remain free and unchanged.
Under the updated fees, customers will be charged ₹23 plus GST for each cash withdrawal at non-SBI ATMs after the free limit, up from ₹21 plus GST previously. For non-financial transactions, such as balance enquiries or mini statements, the fee has increased to ₹11 plus GST from ₹10.
For regular savings account holders, the number of free transactions per month at non-SBI ATMs remains unchanged at five. This includes both financial and non-financial transactions. Fees are applied only after this limit is exceeded.
SBI has also introduced a cap on free transactions for salary accounts. These account holders are now entitled to 10 free transactions per month at non-SBI ATMs across all locations. Previously, salary accounts allowed unlimited free withdrawals. Once the limit is crossed, the revised fees apply.

The revision in ATM and ADWM charges by SBI is mainly a response to increased interchange fees. Savings and salary account holders should be aware of their free transaction limits to avoid additional fees. While SBI ATMs remain free to use, non-SBI ATM usage beyond the allowed limits will now cost slightly more, making it important for customers to plan their withdrawals accordingly.
