The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) will meet on October 10 and 11, 2025. The meeting is likely to be held in Bengaluru, after a gap of more than seven months.

Key Agenda Items

The formal agenda is not out yet, but major discussions are expected around:

  • EPFO 3.0 rollout – the upgraded system aimed at faster and smoother services.
  • Minimum pension revision – possible hike in the current ₹1,000 monthly pension under EPS 1995.
  • Higher pension status – update on implementation of the Supreme Court ruling (Nov 2022).
  • Employment Linked Incentive Scheme – update on progress.

EPFO 3.0 Progress

EPFO 3.0 is a major technology upgrade, designed to give members a modern portal and quicker services. IT companies including Infosys, Wipro, and TCS were shortlisted to develop the platform. The project faced delays due to technical testing, but updates will be shared with the board in this meeting.

Who Chairs the Meeting

The CBT is the top decision-making body of the EPFO, chaired by Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. It includes representatives from trade unions, employers’ associations, state governments, and the Union labour ministry.

Previous Meeting

The last board meeting was held in February 2025, where the provident fund interest rate was approved. Since then, progress on EPFO 3.0 has been awaited before calling the next meeting.
