
The mutual fund industry is witnessing multiple new fund launches, with asset management companies offering a mix of exchange traded funds (ETFs), index funds, contra strategies and specialised investment funds (SIFs).
These Upcoming new fund offers (NFOs) provide investors with access to different market segments and investment approaches across passive and active categories.

At present, seven mutual fund schemes along with three specialised investment funds are open for subscription. Among the seven mutual fund offerings, four are ETFs, two are index funds and one is a contra fund.
From a broader perspective, six of these schemes fall under passive investment strategies, while one is an actively managed fund. The SIF offerings are based on long-short and sector rotation strategies.
Edelweiss Mutual Fund’s Nifty Next 50 ETF is currently open for subscription and will close on 14 May. The scheme aims to track the performance of the Nifty Next 50 index through a passive investment approach.
SBI Mutual Fund has also launched two ETF offerings:
This ETF seeks to track the Nifty200 Value 30 index and will remain open for subscription until 18 May.
The scheme offers exposure to small-cap companies through the Nifty Smallcap 250 index and is also scheduled to close on 18 May.
Axis Mutual Fund’s Nifty Capital Markets Index Fund is currently available for subscription and will close on 15 May. The scheme focuses on companies operating within the capital markets segment.
Groww Mutual Fund has introduced two banking-focused passive products:
This ETF provides exposure to private sector banking stocks and will remain open until 20 May.
The index fund mirrors the same banking-focused theme and is also open for subscription until 20 May.
Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has launched the Motilal Oswal Contra Fund, which follows a contrarian investment strategy.
The fund is currently open for subscription and will close on 22 May. Unlike passive schemes, contra funds are actively managed and generally seek investment opportunities in stocks that may be temporarily out of favour or undervalued relative to broader market sentiment.
Three specialised investment funds are also available for subscription, offering alternative equity strategies involving long-short positioning and sector rotation approaches.
Tata Mutual Fund’s Titanium Equity Long-Short Fund is open for subscription and will close on 11 May. The strategy involves taking both long and short equity positions.
The Arthaya Equity Long Short Fund, offered by Union Mutual Fund, will remain open until 18 May. The fund also follows a long-short equity strategy.
Quant Mutual Fund’s QSIF Sector Rotation Long-Short Fund is currently available for subscription and is scheduled to close on 11 May. The strategy focuses on sector rotation along with long-short equity exposure.
