The specialised investment funds (SIFs) experienced significant growth in the first quarter of 2026, showcasing a remarkable 117% increase in assets under management (AUM), as per AMFI data.

The total AUM rose from ₹4,892 crore in December 2025 to ₹10,620 crore in March 2026, according to the latest data.

Significant Growth in Hybrid Strategies

Hybrid investment strategies played a crucial role in driving the growth of SIFs during this period.

AUM in hybrid strategies surged to ₹8,147 crore in March, marking a 110% rise from ₹3,874 crore in December last year.

This increase underscores the growing preference among investors for diversified investment approaches that hybrid strategies offer.

Equity Strategies Maintain Steady Pace

Equity-oriented strategies in SIFs also saw a noteworthy increase.

From just ₹1,019 crore in December 2025, equity strategies grew to ₹2,474 crore by March 2026, reflecting a significant 142.8% growth during this span.

On a monthly basis, there was a 6.5% increase from February's AUM of ₹2,322 crore.

Fluctuating Inflows Highlight Market Dynamics

Despite the overall AUM growth, SIFs recorded a moderation in monthly inflows. March witnessed inflows of ₹1,314 crore, a substantial drop of 57% from February's inflows of ₹3,127 crore.

Hybrid strategies attracted ₹974 crore in March, down from ₹1,867 crore in February.

Equity strategies saw inflows of ₹340 crore in March, decreasing from ₹1,260 crore the previous month yet maintaining positive momentum.
