
In February 2026, the mutual fund industry saw a significant increase in its investor base, adding 7.64 lakh unique investors.
This growth brought the total number of unique investors to 6.09 crore by the end of the month.
The industry also witnessed the addition of 42.58 lakh new folios, bringing the total to 27.06 crore.
The average Assets Under Management (AUM) for February 2026 stood at ₹83.43 lakh crore, marking a 2% increase from January 2026's ₹82.01 lakh crore. Year-on-year, the AUM grew by 23% from ₹67.58 lakh crore in February 2025.
February 2026 saw inflows of ₹94,530 crore, compared to ₹1.56 lakh crore in January 2026 and ₹40,064 crore in February 2025.
The industry launched 21 open-ended and 1 close-ended funds, attracting ₹5,357 crore collectively.
The average AUM per folio in B-30 towns was ₹1.02 lakh, while in T-30 cities, it was ₹2.71 lakh. The combined average ticket size for T-30 and B-30 cities was ₹1.87 lakh, with the overall industry average at ₹3.03 lakh.
By February 2026, the total number of mutual fund schemes reached 1,937, up from 1,919 in January 2026.
The total SIP AUM at the end of February 2026 was ₹16.64 lakh crore, up from ₹16.36 lakh crore in January 2026. SIP inflows for the month were ₹29,845 crore, slightly down from ₹31,002 crore in the previous month.
The industry recorded 65.72 lakh new SIP accounts, while 49.70 lakh accounts were discontinued, bringing the total outstanding SIP accounts to 1,045 crore.

In February 2026, the industry registered 5,606 new ARN codes, with 2,250 being individual ARNs and 3,179 for corporate employees.
The mutual fund industry experienced notable growth in February 2026, with increases in unique investors, folios, and AUM. Despite a slight dip in SIP inflows, the overall performance indicates a robust market presence.
