Private credit has emerged as a growing segment within India’s alternative investment market over the last few years.
Asset managers and institutional investors have increasingly explored privately structured debt transactions outside traditional lending channels.
The segment has seen activity from both domestic and global investors amid changing borrowing patterns among corporates.
Real estate, infrastructure and hospitality have remained among the sectors attracting private credit funding due to long-term financing requirements.
Alternative investment funds operating in the credit segment generally invest through customised debt structures, secured instruments and special situation financing transactions.
