Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund announced that its Franklin India Money Market Fund has crossed ₹3,800 crore in Assets Under Management (AUM), coinciding with 24 years since its launch.
The scheme has been operating as an open-ended debt fund, primarily used for short-term allocations.
The portfolio is built around short-term money market instruments, including certificates of deposit (CDs), commercial papers (CPs), Treasury bills, and sovereign bonds.
All investments have maturities of under 1 year, which helps keep the portfolio relatively less sensitive to interest rate changes.
Such funds are typically used to park surplus cash for brief periods. Investors, including institutions and individuals, use them when funds are likely to be deployed elsewhere in the near future.
The emphasis remains on liquidity and capital preservation rather than long-term returns.
The fund house stated that the scheme has performed above its benchmark across short-term periods such as one month, 3 months, and 6 months, as of end-January 2026.
These durations are commonly tracked for money market funds due to their short investment horizon.
The scheme is managed by Rohan Maru, Chandni Gupta, and Rahul Goswami. It does not levy any entry or exit load, allowing transactions without additional charges.
The portfolio is managed with a focus on maintaining liquidity while investing in higher-rated instruments.

The rise in assets indicates continued use of money market funds for short-term cash management, particularly in periods of changing liquidity and interest rate conditions.
