Edelweiss Mutual Fund has increased the minimum investment amount for fresh transactions in 2 of its debt schemes, the Edelweiss Overnight Fund and Edelweiss Liquid Fund. The revised limits will come into effect from May 15, 2026.
As per the update issued by the fund house, the minimum amount for SIPs, STPs and lump sum investments has been raised from ₹100 to ₹1,000 per application.
The revised threshold will apply only to new transactions and registrations submitted from the effective date.
The change will not affect existing systematic transactions registered before May 15, 2026. Investors who already have SIPs or STPs running in these schemes can continue with their current instalment amount without any revision.
The fund house has clarified that the increase applies only to fresh applications. No changes have been announced in relation to ongoing investments made before the revised rules come into force.
The updated minimum amount covers 3 investment routes used by mutual fund investors. These include systematic investment plans (SIPs), systematic transfer plans (STPs) and one-time lump sum investments.
Following the revision, fresh applications under all 3 modes will require a minimum contribution of ₹1,000 per transaction in both schemes.
Liquid funds and overnight funds are categories of debt mutual funds that invest in short-term fixed-income instruments. Overnight funds invest in securities with a maturity of one day, while liquid funds invest in short-duration debt and money market instruments.
These schemes are generally used by investors looking to park surplus funds for short periods while maintaining liquidity. The latest revision relates only to transaction limits and does not change the schemes’ investment objectives or portfolio structure.
