Varun Beverages Ltd (VBL), PepsiCo’s largest franchise bottler, has set up a new wholly-owned unit in Kenya. The company has registered VBL Industries (Kenya) Limited, which will handle the production, distribution and sale of beverages in the country. The announcement was made on November 19, 2025.

Africa Expansion Continues

This follows VBL’s recent decision to expand its product range in Africa. In October, the company confirmed that its subsidiaries will distribute Carlsberg beer brands under an exclusive agreement with Carlsberg Breweries of Denmark. This marks VBL’s move into alcoholic beverages through distribution in select African markets.

Snacks Business Update

Apart from beverages, VBL also reported progress in its snacks segment. Its snacks facility in Morocco is now fully operational, and the company stated that the wider business plan includes a processing plant in Zimbabwe. The snacks unit adds to the company’s expansion outside the core soft drink segment.

VBL recorded 2.4% growth in consolidated sales volumes, reaching 273.8 million cases in the quarter ended September, up from 267.5 million cases a year earlier. Volumes in India were mostly unchanged due to heavy rainfall, while international markets grew 9%, helped by sales in South Africa.

Varun Beverages Share Price Performance

As of 11:01 am on November 20, 2025, Varun Beverages share price was trading at ₹455.15, a 0.13% increase from the previous closing price.
