
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited has announced the receipt of a new solar EPC order from South Africa, marking its 2nd project win from the region in the current fiscal year.
The company has secured a turnkey EPC contract for a 240 MW AC Solar PV project in South Africa with an estimated value of $147 million, roughly ₹1,313 crore. This project adds to its expanding portfolio in the region, reinforcing its presence in the international renewable energy space.
SWREL is now executing 4 turnkey solar projects with 4 developers in South Africa. The 2 projects awarded in the previous fiscal have shown steady operational progress, supporting the company’s foothold in the market. The 2 latest project wins within the last 2 months strengthen its regional expansion.

With this new contract, SWREL’s total EPC order inflows for the fiscal have crossed ₹5,088 crore. The company highlighted that ordering activity remains robust as solar adoption continues to rise in South Africa due to corporate demand for energy stability and declining project costs.
SWREL operates as a global renewable EPC provider with a portfolio exceeding 22,8 GWp, including commissioned and under construction projects. Its O and M portfolio stands at 9,3 GWp. The company maintains a presence across 28 countries, covering India, Africa, South East Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Australia and the Americas.
