Sensex Steady Above 83,900 as Reliance, SBI, and M&M Lead Early Gains

The BSE Sensex traded almost flat on November 3, 2025, rising 1.80 points to 83,940.51 at 10:37 AM. The benchmark opened at 83,835.10, touched a high of 84,006.47, and dipped to a low of 83,609.54 during early trade. The previous close stood at 83,938.71.

Top Gainers and Losers

Among the Sensex 30 stocks, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) led the gainers, climbing 2.03% to ₹3,557.05, followed by State Bank of India (SBI) up 1.17% to ₹948, and Reliance Industries up 0.46% to ₹1,493.40. Other notable gainers included Bajaj Finserv (+0.43%), Sun Pharma (+0.42%), Axis Bank (+0.36%), and Power Grid (+0.29%).

On the downside, Maruti Suzuki fell 3.19% to ₹15,675, while BEL (-1.29%), Titan (-1.24%), and TCS (-0.75%) also declined. Stocks like Asian Paints (-0.44%), ITC (-0.57%), and Hindustan Unilever (-0.47%) saw mild losses.

As of October 31, 2025, the total market capitalisation of Sensex companies stood at ₹16.68 lakh crore (full cap) and ₹9.93 lakh crore (free-float cap). The finance sector held the largest share with 39.27%, followed by information technology (11.01%), oil & gas (10.13%), transport equipment (6.67%), and FMCG (6.30%).

In terms of fundamentals, the Sensex PE ratio stood at 23.05, PB ratio at 4.47, and dividend yield at 1.16%.
