Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL) has acquired a majority stake in Goodness Group Global, a beverage company based in Sydney. The transaction will be RCPL’s entry into the Australian consumer goods market.
The company already operates in overseas markets such as the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Nepal and Sri Lanka, and the deal adds another geography to its international presence.
The acquisition gives RCPL control of Goodness Group’s beverage brands. These include Nexba, a gut-health drink made with plant-based, zero-calorie sweeteners.
The range also includes PACE, a hydration drink co-created with Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins, along with BISON, a protein-based beverage, and GOOD BREKKIE, a liquid breakfast product.
Goodness Group sells its products across Australia and in more than 20 international markets. The company positions its offerings around low-calorie and plant-based beverages.
Its flagship Nexba brand uses a proprietary natural sweetener called Goodsweet.
RCPL said it intends to introduce the acquired brands into new markets, including India. The company plans to use its existing distribution network to expand their reach.
The deal adds to RCPL’s beverage portfolio, which includes RasKik juices, Sun Crush drinks, Shunya herbal beverages and zero-sugar carbonated drinks.
