The National Securities Depository (NSDL) has announced its first dividend since listing on Dalal Street in August 2025. The board recommended a final dividend of ₹2 per share (100% of face value) at its May 23 meeting, subject to shareholder approval at the 13th AGM on September 29, 2025.
NSDL has fixed September 19, 2025, as the record date for dividend eligibility. If approved, the dividend will be credited on or before October 28, 2025, around Diwali. The payment will be made after deducting tax at source.
NSDL raised ₹4,011 crore in its IPO launched on July 30, 2025. Shares were issued at ₹800 and listed at ₹880 on August 6, giving a 10% listing gain. The IPO was subscribed 41 times overall.
NSDL share price (NSE: NSDL) was trading at ₹1,305.85 on September 17, 2025, up 0.58%. The stock opened at ₹1,307 and touched an intraday high of ₹1,314, while the day’s low stood at ₹1,293.30.
In the past month, NSDL share price gained nearly 8%, despite a 1% drop in the last five days. Since January 2025, the stock is up 39%. It currently has a market capitalization of about ₹26,140 crore, with a 52-week range of ₹880 to ₹1,425.

Founded in 1996, NSDL is India’s first and largest depository, with CDSL as its main competitor. It plays a key role in holding securities in electronic form and enabling seamless transactions in the capital markets.
NSDL’s first post-IPO dividend highlights its strong performance and investor-friendly approach. With record date on Sept 19 and likely payout by Oct 28, investors can look forward to a festive season bonus.
