Nestlé India Limited has announced the commissioning of a new Maggi Noodles production line at its Sanand factory in Gujarat. The move is part of the company’s broader capital expenditure plan aimed at scaling up capacity to meet rising consumer demand for its popular instant noodles brand.
The Sanand facility, which had an existing production capacity of approximately 121,000 tons per annum with an 80% utilisation rate, will now see an addition of about 20,600 tons annually. The expansion, expected to be completed within FY 2025–26, represents a significant step in strengthening Nestlé’s manufacturing capabilities in India.
The investment required for the project is estimated at ₹85 crore, which will be funded entirely through internal accruals. The new production line aligns with Nestlé’s strategy of augmenting capacity through both greenfield and brownfield projects planned between 2020 and 2025.
Maggi Noodles, one of Nestlé’s flagship brands in India, continues to experience robust demand across the country. By expanding capacity at Sanand, the company is positioning itself to cater to growing consumer needs while ensuring supply chain resilience. Nestlé also manufactures Maggi Noodles at its other production locations, making this addition part of a wider capacity expansion strategy.
Pramod Kumar Rai, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of Nestlé India, confirmed the development in a stock exchange filing.
