Muthoot Finance delivered an impressive performance in the September quarter, with its profit rising 87.5% to ₹2,345.17 crore, compared with ₹1,251.14 crore last year. This sharp rise was supported by strong demand for gold loans as gold prices reached multiple all-time highs.

Revenue Boost from Higher Gold Prices

The company’s interest income grew 55% to ₹6,304.36 crore. Rising gold prices increased the value of customers’ gold holdings, allowing them to borrow more. At the same time, stricter norms on unsecured loans pushed more borrowers toward gold-backed loans.

Loan Book and Guidance Update

Muthoot Finance’s loan assets under management (AUM) rose 47% year-on-year to ₹1.32 trillion. Seeing strong demand, the company raised its FY26 gold loan growth guidance to 30–35%, up from 15%.

Managing Director George Alexander Muthoot said that RBI’s supportive regulations, high gold prices, and tighter rules for unsecured credit will continue to drive demand for gold loans.

Improvement in Asset Quality

Asset quality also strengthened. Gross Stage 3 loans, loans overdue for more than 90 days fell to 2.25%, down from 2.58% in the previous quarter.
