The Indian stock market experienced a roller coaster ride in November 2025. Out of the total 19 trading sessions, 8 sessions saw a negative session while 11 trading sessions closed in green. As we step into December 2025, several critical macroeconomic events are likely to influence market direction.
As per the RBI's FY26 calendar, this will be the 5th Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of the year. Scheduled to take place over 3 days, it will commence on December 3 and conclude on December 5. The RBI is expected to announce its decision on the repo rate and other key interest rates on December 5, 2025.
Auto stocks such as Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki (MSIL), and Hyundai are likely to be in focus as investors await November 2025 auto sales date. The November 2025 auto sales data is expected to be released by the auto companies on December 1.
During October 2025, passenger vehicle makers Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) delivered particularly robust performances, while Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest-ever monthly sales.
The inflation numbers for November 2025 are expected to be released by December 12, 2025. India’s consumer inflation cooled to 0.25% in October, strengthening hopes of more policy easing by the Reserve Bank of India. The decline in headline inflation and food inflation in October is mainly attributed to the impact of decline in GST (goods and services tax), favourable base effect and to a drop in inflation of oils and fats, vegetables, fruits, egg, footwear, cereals and products, transport and communication.
At the same time, inflation data from the US will be closely monitored, as it can impact global risk sentiment, foreign institutional investor (FII) flows, and currency market movements.

As December 2025 begins, investors should brace for a data-heavy month that could significantly influence market direction. With the RBI’s monetary policy decision, auto sales numbers, and domestic as well as global inflation data on the horizon, the market may witness increased volatility.
