Coca-Cola Bottlers Commit ₹25,760 Crore Investment to India's Food Processing Sector

Three Coca-Cola bottlers in India have agreed to invest ₹25,760 crore in food processing projects, as per the news reports. The agreements were signed with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The investment covers both new (greenfield) and expansion (brownfield) projects.
Companies Participating
The bottlers involved are SLMG Beverages, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, which is fully owned by Coca-Cola, and the Kandhari Group of Companies. The confirmation was given by representatives of the companies.
SLMG Beverages, the largest bottler for Coca-Cola in the country, will invest ₹8,000 crore as part of the total amount. The rest of the funds will come from the other two bottlers.
States Covered
The projects will be carried out in nine states. These include Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu. Work is set to begin this year, and the timeline for completion extends up to 2030.
The planned investments are expected to generate employment. Estimates suggest 30,000 direct jobs will be created, along with around 300,000 indirect opportunities linked to related industries and services.
Ministry Support
The Ministry of Food Processing Industries has stated it will help in securing regulatory approvals required for the projects. This is intended to make the implementation process smoother for the companies involved.
