Computer Age Management Services (CAMS), India’s leading registrar and transfer agent, has unveiled a fresh round of technology upgrades, particularly in AI and cloud-driven operations, to keep pace with rapid growth across the mutual fund industry.
With Mutual Fund participation rising and new players entering the market, the company is reinforcing its infrastructure to support higher scale, new product categories and regulatory demands.
CAMS said it is modernising its platform to onboard as many as eight new asset management companies each year, while simultaneously supporting the launch of innovative products such as Special Investment Funds (SIFs) and GIFT City-based Mutual Fund schemes.
The company, which already manages over 30 clients in GIFT City, sees the international financial hub as a major growth avenue for domestic fund houses.
A central element of the tech overhaul is CAMSLens, a newly launched AI system designed to interpret regulatory circulars in real time and convert them into actionable, department-specific requirements.
CAMS also plans to add 4 more AI integrations over the next two quarters to increase automation, speed and operating capacity.
The company said 6 mutual fund houses: Angel One, Unifi, Jio BlackRock, Ceybank (Sri Lanka), Taurus and Choice went live on its platform in 2025, an industry-first milestone.
CAMS processed more than 900 million financial transactions last year and maintains data centres capable of handling double that volume to ensure uninterrupted scale.
As of September 2025, CAMS oversaw assets of ₹52 lakh crore, holding about 68% market share. Its unique investor count rose to 4.3 crore, marking a 17% YoY increase.
