On Monday, the benchmark indices were trading flat with Sensex down around 65 points or 0.10% at 63,321 and the Nifty trading down by 25 points or 0.13% at 18,803. About 1,919 shares have advanced, 1,454 declined, and 197 are unchanged on the BSE.
The top Sensex gainers were Titan India Ltd, Larsen & Toubro Ltd and Bajaj FinServ whereas the top Sensex losers were Axis Bank ICICI Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank.
The BSE Industrials Index was the top gaining among the sectorial indices and BSE Telecommunication Index was the top losing sector. The BSE Industrials Index soared 0.95%, led by Skippers Ltd and Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd while the BSE Telecommunication Index was down 0.95% dragged down by Tata Teleservices (India) Ltd and Tata Communications Ltd.
The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.57% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.50%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were Jindal Steel & Power Ltd and Shriram Finance Ltd while the top small-cap gainers were Mishtann Foods Ltd and Skippers Ltd.
