Prices of 19 kg Commercial LPG cylinders have been raised by ₹993 from 1 May, 2026, as per ANI reports. The revised rate in Delhi is ₹3,071.50, compared with ₹2,078.50 earlier.

In Mumbai, prices have increased to ₹3,024 from ₹2,031. These cylinders are primarily used by restaurants, catering services, and small commercial units. The latest revision follows 2 earlier increases.

Prices were raised by over ₹100 in early March and again by around ₹200 on 1 April. The current hike is the largest in this sequence.

Domestic LPG Prices Remain Unchanged

Household LPG cylinder prices have not been revised. Indian Oil Corporation said domestic cooking gas rates remain unchanged despite recent movements in global energy costs. This applies across major cities.

Kerosene supplied through the public distribution system has also not seen any change in pricing.

No Change in Petrol and Diesel Rates

Retail prices of petrol and diesel continue at existing levels. Oil marketing companies have not altered pump prices even as global crude oil prices remain elevated. These fuels account for a large share of domestic consumption.

Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) for domestic airlines has also not been revised. However, rates for international carriers have been increased in line with changes in input costs. ATF prices are typically reviewed at the start of each month.

Export Duties Revised

The government has reduced export duties on diesel and aviation turbine fuel. The duty on diesel exports has been cut to ₹23 per litre from ₹55.5 per litre, with no road and infrastructure cess (RIC).

The levy on ATF exports has been lowered to ₹33 per litre from ₹42 per litre. Petrol exports continue to attract no duty.

The revised rates came into effect from 1 May following a periodic review. Earlier, these duties were increased in April after being introduced in March.

Effect on Commercial Users

The increase in commercial LPG prices is expected to raise operating costs for businesses dependent on bulk cylinders, particularly in the food services segment.

Conclusion

While household fuel and transport prices remain unchanged, the rise in commercial LPG rates indicates continued cost pressures for business users reliant on LPG.
