The top Sensex gainers were HCL Technologies Ltd, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd and Wipro Ltd whereas the top Sensex losers were ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance Ltd and IndusInd Bank.

All the sectoral indices were trading in green with The BSE Metals Index and BSE Utilities being the top gainers. The BSE Metals Index soared 1.1%, led by Jindal Steel Ltd and APL Apollo Tubes Ltd while the BSE Utilities Index was up 1.04% led by SJVN Ltd and NHPC Ltd.

The indices in the broader markets were trading higher, with the BSE Mid-cap index up 0.84% and the BSE Small-cap index up 0.68%, respectively. The top mid-cap gainers were SJVN Ltd and Indian Overseas Bank while the top small-cap gainers were Nahar Capital & Financial Services Ltd and GTL Infrastructure Ltd.
