Intercity mobility company Zingbus has reported strong revenue growth in the financial year ended March 2025.
Revenue from operations increased 85% year-on-year to ₹161 crore in FY25, compared with ₹87 crore in FY24, as per filings with the Registrar of Companies (RoC). The Gurugram-based firm earns its entire operating income from intercity bus ticketing services.
Zingbus did not report any income from non-core or ancillary services during the year. Ticketing revenue remained the only contributor to operating income, indicating continued dependence on route expansion and passenger volumes to drive topline growth. The company scaled its operations significantly during FY25.
Total expenditure rose 65% to ₹191 crore in FY25, from ₹116 crore in the previous financial year. Bus hire charges formed the largest cost component, accounting for over 63% of total expenses.
This cost increased sharply by 147% to ₹121 crore in FY25, up from ₹49 crore in FY24, driven by higher fleet usage.
Guarantee commission paid to fleet partners increased 78% to ₹16 crore during the year. Employee benefit expenses rose marginally by 7% to ₹15 crore.
Advertising and marketing expenses increased 9% to ₹6 crore, indicating relatively stable spending on promotions despite the rise in scale.
Zingbus continued to post losses in FY25, though operating performance improved. EBITDA loss reduced to ₹30.4 crore from ₹38.7 crore in FY24.
EBITDA margin improved to -18.9% from -44.5% in the previous year. Net loss for FY25 stood at ₹25 crore, compared with a loss of ₹24 crore in FY24. Return on capital employed remained negative at -40.39%.
On a unit basis, the company spent ₹1.19 to earn one rupee of operating revenue in FY25, compared with ₹1.33 in FY24.
As of March 31, 2025, Zingbus reported cash and bank balances of ₹3 crore. Current assets stood at ₹9 crore at the end of the year.
According to data from TheKredible, Zingbus has raised about $25 million in funding to date. Its investors include Info Edge, AdvantEdge Technologies, and BP Ventures.
